A small family project
Keep both versions of the story.
- Choose one memory. Ask about a particular meal, object, journey or place. Let the storyteller choose what they want to share.
- Keep the original separately. If you record, ask first and retain the original file. In this browser demo, paste text you have already prepared.
- Add a translation beside it. Preserve names and culturally specific phrases. A short explanation can be more useful than replacing every term.
- Review together. Confirm the wording and intended audience. A software checkbox does not establish consent or translation accuracy.
- Export a finished page. Preview the browser layout, mark it reviewed and download the HTML. Open the downloaded file and confirm that both versions are present.
Useful context
Include who is speaking, approximate date/place if known, and an explanation of a nickname or family object. Mark uncertainty as uncertainty. Keep private reminders in their separate field; the story export excludes that field.
What the demo does
It formats the text you enter. It does not translate, transcribe, record audio or check facts. Language labels help readers and assistive software; they do not restrict which script you can type. Choose Other if a specific language label is unavailable.
